Affordable short-term spaces to live or work: VPS Property Guardians new website attracts 70,000 visitors

Since launching their dedicated website a few weeks ago, the property services and management specialists, VPS Group, have seen a surge of interest in their UK wide Property Guardian programmes, from both prospective guardians and property owners alike. The company manages vacant properties for some of UK’s largest commercial and public sector landlords and property developers, helping to protect over 50,000 units across the country.

“That vps-guardians.co.uk has already seen 70,000 visitors to the website, even before it has been officially launched, is an indication not only of the potential for the property guardian sector, but is also a testimony for VPS’ recognition as the leading quality provider in the UK,” explains Doug Edwards, the Managing Director for VPS Guardians.

“Running a property guardians’ programme not only helps to secure properties that are temporarily vacant, but in a small way also alleviates the pressure on housing. We were one of the first providers in the UK to support this innovative option, and have led the way in ensuring such schemes are managed ethically and safely. It also helps being the market leader in offering a full range of security options, so that we can provide a mix of solutions from guardians, concierge services, through to CCTV and specialist alarms, tailored to each specific property.”

The VPS Guardians service offers affordable, flexible spaces for people to live and work. These spaces are available on a short-term basis, ranging from 1 month to 2 years and in a range of temporarily vacant buildings, from offices and schools though to houses and apartments. Last month, VPS highlighted a white paper that sets out the legal & safety obligations for guardians and property owners. It was issued by VPS and six other property guardian companies, working together to drive up standards, and to help inform and safeguard the interests of both property owners and guardians.

Demand is high for more properties to become available, with VPS advising on and inspecting daily the suitability of empty properties, from enquiries from facilities managers and landlords.
