Foundations in place for new CCS Construction agreement

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has announced engagement is underway on a major new commercial agreement to support public bodies to build, maintain and dispose of their buildings.

A Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been published for a new Construction Works Contractors agreement, which will enable public organisations including government departments, arm’s length bodies, NHS Trusts and local authorities to secure contractors for the construction, refurbishment and demolition of built assets.

The agreement, which is being developed to support delivery of the Government Construction Strategy could be worth £30 billion over seven years, inclusive of an optional three-year extension. The framework is being designed to be suitable for all sizes of potential suppliers, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The CCS has said the agreement would be longer term than its other commercial agreements, to take account of the length and complexity of some major projects.

An industry day for potential suppliers will be held at Manchester Conference Centre on 14 February at 1pm.
