CONTRACT WINS & PARTNERSHIPS IMTECH INVIRON LANDS LEADING ROLE AT THE BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE Imtech Inviron has extended its five-year partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) having been awarded a new three-year maintenance deal. Imtech Inviron is the BFI’s technical services partner, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across its portfolio of five UK sites. A full time site based team supports the BFI Southbank and Berkhamsted locations, with mobile engineers, helpdesk, energy solutions and small project services across all sites. The new contract covers a combination of architectural buildings and state-of-the-art technical facilities including the BFI IMAX and BFI Southbank, which requires meticulous planning to ensure that all systems work eff iciently and that the numerous screenings, including film premieres, run smoothly. The BFI’s £12 million Master Film Store in Warwickshire requires precise conditions to prevent deterioration, including the storage of highly flammable cellulose nitrate film, therefore specially trained HVAC engineers are responsible for maintaining conditions at -5° C and 35 per cent humidity. 12 FEBRUARY 2017 Cordant Projects, part of the Cordant Group, has secured a £19.6 million contract to provide a range of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services during the construction of 11 Moxy Hotels under a framework agreement with Vastint Hospitality, part of the international real estate organisation,Vastint Group. Under the terms of the deal, Cordant Projects will be responsible for the design and build of all the M&E aspects of the 11 hotels. This includes a new 437- room development at Heathrow, a 294-room hotel in Stratford and a 213-room complex in Edinburgh. NJC has retained its contract with Land Securities and will continue to provide cleaning and support services at 23 locations across the company’s London portfolio. The new three-year, multi-million pound deal, which has the option for a two-year extension, builds on a 10-year partnership between NJC and Land Securities. Levy Restaurants UK has signed a 10-year catering partnership with Twycross Zoo. As part of the partnership, the sports, leisure and hospitality company will develop a range of retail catering options at the venue, creating a rounded and multitiered experience for visitors. Levy Restaurants’ plans include launching a new table service bistro, providing a variety of fresh, cooked to order dishes for guests. For families, sharing dishes as a well as home-cooked and nutritious kid’s meal will be available. MML continues to build on its 13-year relationship with the John Lewis Partnership having been awarded a three-year extension to its maintenance management contract. The UK and European FM company will continue to deliver an around-the-clock maintenance management service for the John Lewis O Q the UK. Housed in a 1960s Grade II listed building in Kensington High Street, West London, the museum of contemporary design and architecture now has three times more space than its previous location and has been transformed into a 21st Century facility. CBRE, has been appointed to provide a total FM contract for the Royal College of Physicians. Founded in 1518 by a Royal Charter from King Henry VIII, the Royal College of Physicians of London (RCP) is the professional membership body for physicians, with over 33,000 members and fellows both in the UK and across the globe. Patient centred and clinically led, the RCP works to drive improvement in the diagnosis of disease, the care of individual patients and the health of the whole population. INTERSERVE SECURES £16M MOJ CONTRACT EXTENSION Interserve has been awarded a one-year contract extension worth £16 million to provide total facilities management services to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). The new deal extends an eight-year relationship between Interserve and the MoJ, which has seen the international support services and construction group provide a wide range of facilities services to the department. Interserve also provides the MoJ with probation services for low and medium-risk off enders in five areas of England. Interserve is responsible for supporting and rehabilitating around 40,000 off enders each year. PLATINUM WINS HARD FM DEAL AT LBC ESTATES Platinum Facilities Maintenance Services has been awarded a major contract with London Bridge City (LBC) to service all mechanical, electrical and fabric assets within the SE1 building portfolio. Encompassing eight buildings across two individual estates, covering an area of approximately 1.6 million sq. ft . of mixed commercial off ice space, the LBC property portfolio sits between London Bridge and Tower Bridge and includes the off ice buildings No. 1 London Bridge and Cottons Centre, More London and Hay’s Galleria. As the sole M&E contractor, Platinum will provide maintenance, technical and engineering support, ensuring total compliance to statutory requirements.
