FIRST PERSON PEOPLE 54 FEBRUARY 2017 CAREY TO LEAD ABM UK’S SUSTAINABILITY AGENDA Tracy Carey has been appointed to ABM’s senior leadership team to direct the facility solutions provider’s sustainability practices. In her role as sustainability manager, Carey will be responsible for overseeing ABM UK’s sustainability strategy, which will support the company’s nationwide contracts. She will also ensure that ABM UK’s and its clients’ environmental performances are continually above industry standards. ABM proactively works with its clients on a wide range of sustainability initiatives, from energy reduction to green cleaning and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. NEW HEAD OF SECURITY AT O&G John Ford has been appointed head of security at Off ice & General (O&G) as the company pursues its ambitions to develop its security off er as part of its growth plans in 2017. His appointment will be to primarily drive organic growth for the facilities management company’s £39 million turnover whilst also developing propositions for O&G’s existing clients. Ford, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the security sector, joins O&G from Ultimate Security Services where he had worked for over 10 years dealing with clients such as British Land, Land Securities and London Bridge Quarter. He has considerable experience of mixed-use estates and especially the retail sector. When managing security on behalf of Land Securities at its Cardinal Place estate close to Victoria, he led the process to secure Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) powers in negotiation with the Metropolitan Police. Ultimate became the first private security company, with its operations at Cardinal Place coordinated by Ford, to gain these powers (awarded at the discretion of the chief constable) under the scheme. CH&CO APPOINTS WALDRON TO ITS BOARD Terry Waldron joins CH&Co Group’s board of directors in the role of group relationships director. Her core responsibilities in this new role will include building key client relationships and leading the strategic direction of business development. Waldron joins CH&Co from Barclays Group plc where she has worked for the past 10 years, latterly as global facilities director. She has expertise in delivering complex FM deals through partnerships and maximising value for clients and users, and is committed to and known for engaging with employees to develop dynamic, talented and diverse teams. TENDER OPPORTUNITY Compass Group Ltd is procuring on an existing contractual arrangement with Defence Training Services Ltd to deliver the following facility management services at the Army Foundation College, Penny Pot Lane, Killinghall, Harrogate, HG3 2SE • Clerical And Ancillary Support • Domestic Services • Information Technology Services & Telecommunications Services (Manage site infrastructure to deliver voice & data services) • Ground Maintenance • Primary Health Care Services • Stores Management (Maintain and operate a supply organisation providing management provisions, accounting, secure storage, issue, receipt and maintenance of inventory to include components, equipment, spares, etc.) The defined services will be tendered on an individual basis with the option of an alternative grouped service submission. Services will be commissioned under a sub-contract to the existing Facilities Provision Contract.
