LIGHTING CONTROLS LTD. CONTINUES
ALONG ITS INNOVATIVE PATH
The renovation of older buildings coupled
with the introduction of contemporary
lighting control technology can present
challenges. To help meet these, Lighting
Controls Ltd. has introduced a new
DALI Switch Interface to that interfaces
architectural switches into the DALI
network. This is the first such interface to
fit into a low-profile box, enabling existing
light switches to connect to the DALI
The ecoLUX LC-DALI4IP/BB, is a
4-channel switch input module, powered
by the DALI bus, which enables 4 standard
switches, or two centre retractive switches
to be connected to a DALI network. Being
of very low profile (9mm thick), the unit can be installed behind a standard light
switch in a 28mm pattress box.
This slim size makes the LC-DALI4IP/BB input module ideal when a DALI
switch interface is needed in an existing installation, for instance, when it is
required to use architectural switches to control lights on a DALI network, or
when the wiring inaccessible. The interface can be used with all ecoLUX DALI
modules including LCMs, Area Controllers and interfaces such as the DALI64.
The LC-DALI4IP/BB can be connected directly to the DALI connection on a
luminaire so as to quickly and cost e ectively add switching and dimming
functions to an existing installation.
LEADERS IN SUSTAINABLE REFUSE SACKS AT THE
MANCHESTER CLEANING SHOW
Contract interior specialist Gradus has installed
RPC bpi refuse, one of Europe’s leading
manufacturers of refuse sacks, is exhibiting at
The Manchester Cleaning Show 2018, between
11-12 April on Stand A05.
The business supports the circular economy by
preserving the environment by up-cycling plastic
material and turning it into second-life products.
The company has the scope and expertise to
recycle over 70,000 tonnes of plastic material each
year, giving new life to polythene from commercial,
industrial, packaging and agricultural sources.
As concepts of the circular economy take
hold across the globe, RPC bpi refuse has forged
compelling solutions to environmental problems.
Every tonne of polythene the company recycles,
for example, saves 1.8 tonnes of crude oil, reduces
energy usage by two thirds, uses 90 per cent less
water and cuts sulphur dioxide emissions by 33 per
The company's focus on environmentally
sound products as well as best practices has also
led to a host of ISO accreditations recognising
the sustainable thrust of its manufacturing. The
recycled farm plastics used to make the company’s
award-winning Green Sack range, for example, has
a carbon footprint estimated to be at least 35 per
cent less than imported refuse sacks from the Far
The need for innovative products and services
came into sharp focus recently when the
Government published details in January of its
25-year Environmental Plan. Ministers vowed to
eradicate all avoidable plastic waste in the UK by
2042, improve the natural environment and throw
much more emphasis on innovation in plastics to
keep it out of landfill and our oceans.
By focusing investment on the twin towers of
innovation and customer service, RPC bpi refuse
has pioneered several market-leading products.
Reprocessing post-consumer packaging has
enabled the company to use the recovered material
to develop The Green Sack: it is now the UK's
leading refuse sack brand and specifically tailored
to meeting customers' growing environmental
Such innovation pays dividends. Recently the
company won a Green Apple Environment Award
at a ceremony in the Houses of Parliament in
recognition of its
best practices which
have resulted in the
for ‘Zero Waste to
Landfill’ across 75
per cent of its sites.
