Independent engineering, facilities services and IT services group, NG Bailey, is continuing to invest in its specialist energy services offering with a dedicated central operations centre.
The centre, which provides support to the company’s specialist team – incorporating NG Bailey’s existing engineering, facilities management and IT expertise – provides data analysis, energy monitoring and alarming, dynamic scheduling and mobile operations management for its customers.
Chris Coath, the company’s head of energy, said:
“Buildings are generating more data than ever before, and by accessing and then analysing that data we can use our design, engineering and building services capabilities to improve system efficiencies, increase building performance and reduce energy usage. This enables us to generate tangible outcomes for building owners and occupiers.
“The real opportunity is in the analysis of building data, which is what our operations centre is focused on. By being able to analyse and respond, in real time, to the data that is being collected within a building, we can help customers meet their financial and sustainability objectives.”
The company’s partnership with Land Securities is one example of how collaboration on energy efficiency improvements is generating significant financial and environment benefits for customers and their occupiers.
Its 12-month energy reduction pilot at six Land Securities properties in London cut overall energy usage by nine per cent – ahead of Land Securities’ own target – and saved more than 7.2m kWh. As a result, the scheme has been extended to a further 10 properties.
NG Bailey has invested close to £1 million in its energy services offering during the last financial year.
