The contract win was awarded following a a competitive tender process managed by the venue owners, St Ethelburga’s. The formal review was triggered by a desire to broaden the appeal and maximise the revenue of the event space, which is situated within a medieval church with a unique history.
In 1993, the church was almost completely destroyed in the ‘Bishopsgate bomb’ planted by the IRA. The church was restored and became an independent charity; managed by St Ethelburga’s as a centre for reconciliation and peace, and generates income from venue hire.
Seasoned won the contact having demonstrated its originality, food offer, ability to deliver venue hire revenue and shared ethics of corporate social responsibility.
Justine Huxley, director of St Ethelburga’s said:
“We are delighted to be working with Seasoned Events and look forward to making the beauty and uniqueness of our space available more widely.”
