ABM extends partnership with Cignpost ExpressTest

ABM, a leading provider of aviation services, has been appointed by Cignpost ExpressTest to fulfil the resourcing needs at Covid-19 testing sites at Heathrow, Gatwick and Edinburgh airports, and retail sites across the UK.

The working partnership comes after ABM utilised the flexible staffing expertise of its Blackjack Promotions business earlier this year to provide an agile manpower resource to help at testing sites.

ABM will continue its support with Cignpost ExpressTest and supply over 1,500 team members; a thousand of which will be based at Heathrow with others located at Gatwick and Edinburgh airports and shopping centres in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Newcastle.

In addition to staffing support at Heathrow, ABM will also provide Cignpost with training facilities and a shuttle bus to transport staff into the terminal for training.

Within its new warehousing facilities at London’s Heathrow Airport, ABM will also store testing equipment which can be easily distributed into the airport and to a new drive through testing operation at the Terminal 4 long stay.

Services provided by the highly trained team include carrying out swab tests, car park marshalling and on-site administration which includes checking samples are collected correctly and sent to laboratories efficiently and safely.

In addition, the contract also includes some office-based roles which oversee the Fit to Fly certification process.

Rob Stefanovic, Account Director in ABM’s UK aviation business, commented: “We are immensely proud and delighted to extend our partnership with Cignpost Diagnostics. This has been an opportunity for us to diversify our business and showcase the pool of incredible, talented people that we have in our team.

“Securing this long term partnership is a true testament to the work we’ve delivered and in doing so, we’ve been able to protect the jobs of our team members, which has been absolutely crucial during such a time of uncertainty.”

FMJ and Grundon Waste Management have launched the 2021 waste and recycling management survey. It’s the fourth year for the annual appraisal of how FMs manage their waste and recycling activities and one which marks an unprecedented period of disruption to services due to the pandemic.

In order to understand how FMs have navigated their way through the last year and their plans for meeting stringent waste and recycling targets we’ve posed a series of questions – aided by the advice and experience of our editorial steering committee.

The results of the 2021 survey will be published in FMJ magazine and form the basis of a white paper co-written by FMJ and the experts at Grundon on how to approach waste and recycling strategies.
