Housing provider awards £5m East Midlands repairs deal

Forming one part of six long-term asset management contracts in total worth over £55 million, Housing and regeneration provider asra Housing Group, has chosen repairs and maintenance specialist Lovell for a five-year contract to repair and refurbish unoccupied homes in the East Midlands.

The deal is worth £5 million and will see Lovell work with asra to repair void properties to a high standard and enable them to be quickly brought back into use. The contract also has the option of a five-year extension.

“asra Housing Group has agreed six long-term asset management contracts in total worth over £55 million. They cover planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishing empty properties (voids), fire risk assessments and gas safety,” says William Cornall, Group director of development and assets at asra Housing Group. “Ranging from four to ten years in length, contracts will deliver significant cost savings, more consistent quality of housing for our customers plus clearer timetables of future works.”

“Our team has a strong track record in carrying out fast, efficient, high-quality repairs to void properties and we are delighted to have been appointed by asra Housing Group to work on its void homes in the East Midlands,” says Simon Medler, managing director of the Lovell repairs and maintenance business. “Our strong communications and IT systems ensure that homes are empty for as short a time as possible, enabling tenants to be quickly rehoused.”
