Independent caterer, Bartlett Mitchell, has donated £10,000 to its employees’ favourite charities as part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
BM team members were invited to nominate their most valued charities for consideration, after it was announced that the company will be making special donations in addition to its existing charitable activity.
Ten charities were selected by founders Wendy Bartlett and Ian Mitchell, along with Chief Executive Ian Thomas. The £10,000 will be divided equally between the 10 charities.
Organisations that have benefitted from Bartlett Mitchell’s support include City Harvest, which collects and redistributes surplus food to London’s most vulnerable people, UK homelessness charity Centrepoint, the Soppexcca cooperative in Nicaragua, and the Janneh Kunda village school in The Gambia.
Last year the caterer launched a new partnership with The Clink Charity, which sees BM supply its premium coffee brand Perkee and deliver barista skills for prisoners undertaking its training programmes.
The charities that each received £1,000 as part of Bartlett Mitchell’s 20th birthday celebrations were:
• WIRES (Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation)
• The Multiple Sclerosis Society
• The Rowan Hospice
• PCD Support
• Surrey Search & Rescue
• Barking & Dagenham Scouts
• Pancreatic Cancer UK
• The Calm Zone
