One of London’s most prestigious hotels, located on the edge of Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, has extended its contract for mechanical and electrical engineering (M&E) with total facilities management provider Bilfinger HSG Facility Management. The new contract is worth in excess of £200,000.
Bilfinger first started working in the unnamed hotel in May 2012, with one full-time engineer delivering planned preventative maintenance to all plant and equipment. The contract was soon extended to two full-time engineers.
In April last year, the hotel asked Bilfinger to benchmark its specialist sub-contractor costs for the engineering services to a range of plant including chillers, generators, the building management system, catering equipment and laundry equipment. Following that process, Bilfinger took over the management of the specialist sub-contracts, saving the hotel £70,000, thanks to a bundled M&E approach.
The hotel boasts a full gym, numerous spa treatment rooms, a 25-metre swimming pool, a cinema, and a stunning ballroom in addition to its luxury suites.
Charles Sinton, sales director UK at Bilfinger HSG, said:
“We are delighted to have had extended our first contract in the hotel sector, particularly with such a prestigious brand. This will allow us to demonstrate our technical expertise in a challenging and demanding environment.”
