Bouygues awarded TFM contract extension with City of London Academies Trust

Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions has successfully tendered to provide total facilities management services for the City of London Academies Trust (CoLAT).

The three-year contract extension commences on 1 September 2021 and includes an increase in service offering to nine Academies across the Trust, which will be supported by an additional 46 team members.

CoLAT currently oversees four secondary academies, three primary academies and one sixth form centre. The Trust’s academies work closely with the one maintained primary school, two co-sponsored academies and three independent schools the City of London Corporation supports.

Barry Coleman, Contract Director, commented: “Thanks to the CoLAT Management team, supported by the Business Development team, we were able to deliver a high standard solution which was led by innovation. This was recognised by the Trust as it is integral to their requirements and for the future. This win reflects 10 years of hard work by the team to establish our position in the Academies market and is testament to the commitment shown by every member of the team.”

Six steps to facilities management in the post-pandemic world

As workplaces open up and restrictions lift the role of the FM has become more important than ever.

The challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic are now providing a valuable opportunity for FMs to demonstrate their skills and adaptability. Whilst on a practical level FMs are responsible for making buildings safe and comfortable, they are also crucial in attracting people back to the office.

In speaking with industry leaders, it is clear that there are six key areas of focus. Zip has published a white paper which looks at each one, suggesting ways that facilities managers can tackle the complexities and pace of a return to the workplace, whilst demonstrating clear and effective leadership along the way.
