Award-winning document management business, Box-it has just celebrated its 30th anniversary. The nationwide business providing a range of physical, digital and integrated document management solutions, was founded by its current chairman, Simon McCowen in 1986, who recognised the growth potential of the document storage and management industry. Soon the vision for the Box-it business model became clear.

It all started with one secure document storage facility in Winchester, Hampshire. There proved to be a demand for this type of service and it was not long before regional offices of Box-it were springing up all over the UK.

Today, the business has 16 regional offices throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man, along with its Head Office based at its original Winchester location employing some 165 people, managing over 150 million documents annually for over 8000 clients across all sectors. Box-it’s headquarters have recently been extended to include a highly secure state-of-the-art scanning facility capable of processing some 250,000 documents per day with the ability to capture data for online access.

Box-it has gone on to win multiple awards within the document management industry not least for its Omnidox software, which include solutions for HR, Accounts Payable and Digital Mailroom designed to streamline processes and increase efficiencies, with proven Return on Investment. Our file management software is an exceptional office management tool. Most recently, Box-it collected the Information and Records Management Society’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ award, a prestigious accolade which was presented in May 2016.
