Capita Symonds has been appointed by the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust to advise on the disposal of part of the trust’s residential property portfolio.
Capita Symonds’ role is the result of a competitive bid as part of its place on the NHS’ SBS Estates Services framework.
The commission comprises 25 properties located in Blackburn and Burnley which have become surplus to requirements including various terrace, semi detached and detached properties.
Capita Symonds is providing initial inspections, valuation advice, and the preparation of a report on the recommended methodology of disposal, including the nature of the properties to be sold and the state of the residential property market in the locality.
The company will then undertake and coordinate the disposal of the properties, taking enquiries, negotiating sales, advising clients on offers and liaising with solicitors through to completion. It is envisaged that the properties will be offered to the market in phases between July and October and will be of interest to both owner occupiers and buy to let investors
The commission also involves the preparation of energy performance certificates for the properties.
