Carlisle Support Services has been awarded a contract extension with Merseyrail to continue providing comprehensive security services across its 68 stations and 75 miles of the Merseyrail network until 2023.
Carlisle Security has been working in partnership with Merseyrail since 2001. Through a combination of static and mobile security teams the company provides customer service rail support staff, byelaw enforcement, and NRSP officers.
The terms of the contract also covers ticket vending machine fingertip maintenance, CCTV monitoring, incident management, and patrol and response officers.
Emma Cowan, Finance and Transformation Director, Merseyrail commented: “Carlisle is a vital partner to Merseyrail, and the extension of our contract is a testament to the high quality of service that Carlisle provides and the value that we place on their role within our organisation. I look forward to continuing this relationship as we remain committed to the safety and security of our passengers.”
Jeff Higham, Contract Manager, Carlisle Support Services added: “Our service solution to Merseyrail has always concentrated on three key factors, a robust, evidentially sound enforcement team, flexible customer personnel, and complementary policing solutions. Since our partnership began over 20 years ago, we have developed principles and objectives of our service provision to Merseyrail which reduce the incidents of anti-social behaviour across the network, assist with crowd control when necessary, providing high visibility patrols, and enforcing byelaws.”
Carlisle security will continue to work with Merseyrail over the next two years to evolve the service offering to deliver efficiencies and to enhance passenger perceptions of safety and security across the network.
