GDF SUEZ, via its subsidiary Cofely South East Asia, has announced the purchase of Keppel FMO (KFMO), the facilities management (FM) arm of Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Private Ltd.
KFMO is one of the strongest providers of integrated facilities management, property management, operation and maintenance, and FM consultancy services in Singapore, operating across a wide spectrum of industries and markets, including airport, rail, healthcare, education, government, mission-critical commercial facilities.
The company employs around 1,000 people and generates annual revenues of around €55 million.
Cofely South East Asia offers a unique combination of service expertise, from the design, implementation and management of energy and utility solutions, to the operational delivery of integrated facilities management.
The acquisition is in line with GDF SUEZ’s strategy to develop, through its primary brand Cofely, its European leading position in energy services on an international scale. In Singapore, the acquisition, combined with Cofely’s Singaporean operations, will give Cofely a strong position in this sector and will enable GDF SUEZ Energy Services to expand its environmental and energy efficient solutions in South East Asia.
Commenting on the acquisition, Jérôme Tolot, executive vice-president of GDF SUEZ, in charge of the Energy Services Business Line, said:
“This acquisition builds on Cofely’s European leading position in energy efficient solutions to equip us with additional capabilities for the delivery of integrated facilities management services. Cofely has the ambition to double its revenues outside Europe within the next five years and South East Asia is one of the main regions we want to invest in.”
Cindy Lim, general manager (Infrastructure Services) of Keppel Infrastructure said:
“We are proud to have grown KFMO since the 1980s into one of Singapore’s leading facilities management companies. With this transaction, we are passing the baton to Cofely GDF SUEZ. We believe that with Cofely GDF SUEZ’s global facilities management know-how, KFMO and its employees can achieve the next level of growth.”
Yeo Kong Nee, general manager of KFMO, added:
“I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the support given by the Keppel Group over the years in growing KFMO’s business and nurturing its employees. This transaction marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organisation and we are excited to be joining Cofely GDF SUEZ. Our focus during this transition period is our customers, and we will ensure that operations and service delivery remain seamless.”
