Commercial director appointment for Mace’s FM business

Janyne Gan has been appointed Commercial Director for Mace’s facilities management division, Operate.

Gan’s appointment to the newly created role comes at a key time for the growth of Mace’s FM business. She will oversee the commercial function for the Operate division, ensuring continuous value on both new and existing contracts.

Gan joins the business from CBRE, where she was Commercial Director for its global workplace business. She has a strong background in the corporate real estate industry, and a great track record within the commercial sector in the EMEA region.

The appointment comes as the Operate business seeks to build on its success in 2021, securing further international contracts with corporate real estate clients in sectors including retail, technology and professional services.

Mace’s Operate business manages offices and facilities for clients globally, in sectors like financial services, retail and manufacturing. Operate offers workplace experience and facility management services in the UK & Europe, Asia Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East.

Speaking about her new role Gan said: “Following a challenging 18 months for the facilities and workplace industry, the opportunities now for providers are huge. We’ve seen a real shift to offer more innovative solutions and value for clients, to help them achieve their workplace ambitions.

“I am thrilled to join Mace and to be part of the team at such an exciting time of growth. The purpose of this newly created role is to strengthen Operate’s commercial function and maximise opportunities to not only build on our partnerships with our current clients, but to also boost the success and service delivery of the business.”

Ross Abbate, CEO for Operate, said: “We are delighted to welcome Janyne to Mace as Commercial Director for the Operate division. We have seen continued success in 2021, and plan to increase our service delivery across our international hubs in 2022. Janyne will be an integral part of our growth strategy going forward as we seek opportunities that align with our purpose and priorities.”

Waste Management and Recycling Survey

FMJ in conjunction with Grundon Waste Management have launched the 2022 survey into how FMs approach their waste management and recycling responsibilities.

It’s the fifth year for the annual appraisal, and as we return to normal, there is a real opportunity for FMs to reappraise their waste and recycling operations and look at new, smarter waste management strategies.

In order to understand how FMs have navigated their way through the last year and their plans for meeting stringent waste and recycling targets we’ve posed a series of questions which include insights into FMs’ waste management strategy and targets, such as zero waste and landfill, the types of waste organisations produce and what helps FMs promote waste management in their organisations?

Please share your experiences and opinions on waste management. The survey will take just five minutes to complete, and as a thank you for taking part, respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 Amazon gift card.
