Compass Group eliminates COO role

Compass Group has announced it will eliminate the role of Chief Operating Officer, following the appointment of Dominic Blakemore as Deputy CEO.

As a result of this decision, Compass has said it will now make a “small change” to its regional reporting structure which will see Turkey out of its European region into the Rest of World region.

Going forward, the Group’s regions will therefore be North America (unchanged), Europe (excluding Turkey) and Rest of World (including Turkey).

Compass has confirmed it will publish restated historical financials relating to the new structure on 24 January 2018.

Blakemore stepped into the Deputy CEO role on 1 October 2017 following the announcement that Richard Cousins, Compass Group’s CEO will be stepping down from his role on 31 March 2018 and retiring from the Group on 30 September 2018. Since then, Blakemore has been working Cousins to allow for a smooth transition and will take over as Group CEO on 1 April 2018.
