DURABLE shortlisted for prestigious UKWA Award

Workplace solutions manufacturer DURABLE has been shortlisted for a UKWA Award for its environmental credentials.

The Awards recognise excellence across companies operating within the logistics industry. In becoming a finalist for the Environmental Award, DURABLE have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction.

“We’re delighted to be shortlisted for this award and recognised for our environmental work. As a plastics manufacturer we work extremely hard to minimise the impact of our operations on the environment”, comments Sam Rylands, Marketing Manager at DURABLE.

DURABLE have taken several steps to reduce their environmental impact including making continual improvements to their manufacturing processes as well as installing solar panels, energy recovery systems and energy-efficient lighting.

In 2010, DURABLE also implemented Lean Management to improve lead times, inventory and delivery performance. DURABLE shared their experiences in a Think Lean guide which is available on their website.

The annual UKWA Awards ceremony will take place in London on Thursday 27 June 2019 and will be attended by HRH the Princess Royal to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
