Energy and services company ENGIE has extended its relationship with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with a five-year contract for the supply of Document and Data Management Services (DDMS) and a four-year contract for Transcription Services. The contracts will see ENGIE supporting DWP’s Digital by Default 2020 Vision plan to replace paper processes with digital services, thereby improving service provision whilst driving down costs.
Within the DDMS contract, ENGIE will provide and manage a secure, comprehensive mail and document scanning & indexing solution for up to 24 million inbound mail items per year, as well as processing a range of multi-format inbound channel communications services. The bulk of this service will be provided from a dedicated facility in the West Midlands and will introduce new technologies and processes designed specifically to enhance the customer journey for DWP applicants.
Alongside this, ENGIE will provide and manage secure off-site transcription, typing and equipment maintenance services for several DWP departments including the Counter Fraud and Compliance Directorate and Child Maintenance Group. It is expected that there will be over 4.4 million minutes of recordings transcribed during the life of the contract. The greater part of this service will be provided from a dedicated facility in the North West and will introduce new and improved processes to support DWP’s business strategies.
ENGIE’s Hadleigh Standen, Central Government Director, commented: “These latest contract awards build on the strong and productive relationship we have developed with the DWP in recent years and are testament to the value that ENGIE has already added to DWP’s operations. We look forward to broadening our support for DWP and its customers through the enhanced provision of digital services.”
