The accolade, which was awarded in the Industrial and Commercial Project of the Year category for ebm-papst’s collaborative work with Emerson Network Power and Norland Managed Services, was presented to David Jarvis, ebm-papst UK Managing Director, at a prestigious awards ceremony held at the London Hilton Park Lane Hotel.
The award winning project looked at a data centre upgrade for the National Bank, which was undertaken by ebm-papst with Emerson Network and Norland Managed Services. ebm-papst improved energy savings with an EC high efficiency fan upgrade within the National Bank’s existing data centre. CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units are critical to the infrastructure of a data centre and upgrading the technology is regarded as the best option when looking at energy savings. The overall project means that the National Bank can expect to achieve energy savings of around £240,000-£270,000 per annum.
David Jarvis said: “It is fantastic that our work has been recognised at the RAC Cooling Industry Awards. The National Bank project highlights just how huge the benefits of an EC upgrade can be and how efficient our EC technology is at delivering energy savings. Benefits include potential energy savings of up to 70% with a payback period of as little as two years.”
The awards, which bring together key players from across the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, highlight the leading technical innovations and environmental successes driving the sector.
