EDF Energy Services, a joint venture between EDF Energy and Dalkia, has announced its acquisition of engineering services company and provider of technical services, Imtech UK and Ireland from private equity firm, Endless LLP.
Imtech employs more than 2,100 people, generating revenues of over £400 million per year delivering mechanical and electrical engineering services, technical operation and management of facilities through Imtech Inviron, and the integration of digital control solutions.
According to EDF, the deal contributes to the successful delivery of its long term strategy, strengthening its reach throughout the UK and says by combining the expertise of EDF Energy, Dalkia and Imtech UK and Ireland the company is able to apply the latest technologies and offer innovative services that deliver improved energy efficiencies at every stage in the life of industrial and commercial facilities – from initial design and build, operation and maintenance through to control of energy.
Commenting on the acquisition, Vincent de Rivaz, CEO EDF Energy said: “As the UK’s leading generator of low carbon electricity and a major supplier to businesses, the addition of Imtech is a significant step in the development of energy services and low carbon solutions for our valued customers. This agreement is a key element of our strategy for long-term growth and investment, and a further demonstration of our commitment and support for British businesses and industries.”

Within EDF Energy Services Imtech will retain its operational autonomy and will continue to be run by the current management team.
Completion of the deal is subject to merger control clearance from the European Commission.
