DECA is a Ministry of Defence Executive Agency based in Sealand, Stafford and deployed locations across the UK and is tasked with supporting the UK’s Armed Forces through the provision of on-shore repair, maintenance, overhaul, upgrade and managed services in the defence electronic components and general engineering field.
This is the first time DECA has awarded a total facilities management contract for the Sealand site, which will see EMCOR UK responsible for delivering a number of services, including mechanical and electrical maintenance (M&E), projects, waste and laundry services and cleaning across the 43 buildings that make up the site. There will also be the requirement to accommodate complex, high-tech and secure elements of the site, which include laboratory-cleaning rooms with humidity and temperature control.
Speaking about the new contract, which commenced on 1 May, Keith Chanter, CEO, EMCOR UK, said: “We are proud to be selected by DECA as a service provider and with our expertise in collaborative business relationships we are confident we can support DECA in meeting their business goals. EMCOR UK is looking forward to working closely with DECA to innovate its facilities and help ensure the long-term sustainability of its diverse assets.
“The contract further strengthens EMCOR UK’s position in the region, where we presently work with customers in the pharmaceutical, aerospace and utility sectors.”
The contract comes with an optional extension of a further two years.
