Enterprising businesswoman in line for top award

An enterprising businesswoman – whose firm provides specialist cleaning services for the facilities management industry – is in the running for a top award.

Simone Hart, managing director and co-founder of Stirling-based family firm Perfect Service Solutions, has been shortlisted for the SME of the Year Award 2015 by Business Women Scotland.

Open to professional women across Scotland, the BWS Awards are aimed at celebrating the success and dedication of inspirational female entrepreneurs and their companies.

It is the first time Ms Hart and her firm, which provides specialist deep cleaning services and ventilation solutions for the food and facilities management industries, have been nominated for an award.

Ms Hart says: “It’s a real honour to be named a finalist and to be recognised by the judges.

“Making the awards’ shortlist is an affirmation that all our hard work is paying off and a chance to demonstrate and celebrate everything the firm and its staff have achieved over the past year.”

Scores of applicants from across Scotland entered the awards and three have been shortlisted for SME of the Year.

Their work will be scrutinised by a panel of judges and the Awards presented during a ceremony at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket next Thursday October 29.

In addition to running Perfect Service Solutions, Ms Hart is vice-chair of the Building and Engineering Services Association in Scotland and was recently appointed vice-chair of the National Association of Air Duct-Cleaners UK.

She says: “I’m hoping we are named SME of the Year on the night – but whether or not we win, I’m proud to have been shortlisted and really looking forward to the whole experience.”
