EQUANS appoints new CEO for UK & Ireland

Jean-Philippe Loiseau has been appointed CEO UK & Ireland of EQUANS, the new name for ENGIE’s services-led activity.

Loiseau brings with him immense experience to EQUANS following a long career in environmental, construction and facilities management services. He has previously led a number of VINCI Group’s European subsidiaries, including VINCI’s FM and construction businesses in the UK. He also managed Antea, an independent environmental services company for 10 years.

Loiseau will take up his new role with effect from 1 September 2021, succeeding current CEO Nicola Lovett, who leaves the business to pursue new challenges outside of the Group.

Jérôme Stubler, EQUANS CEO & Executive Vice-President of ENGIE Group said: “I would like to thank Nicola for the part she has played in the establishment and launch of our new business and for the great dedication and leadership she has shown throughout her successful career with ENGIE. The UK is an important market for EQUANS and I am pleased to welcome Jean-Philippe, who is a strong, experienced leader with the qualities to implement the next phase of growth for our UK & Ireland business, while continuing to deliver high performance outcomes for our customers.”

At the beginning of July, ENGIE announced the creation of EQUANS, bringing together its global service activities under a new brand, creating a market leader in the sector with 74,000 employees and revenues of 12 billion euros.

In the UK & Ireland, all of ENGIE’s activity in technical services, facilities management, construction & regeneration and its energy capabilities in smart buildings, green mobility, district and embedded energy, and renewables, are now all delivered under the EQUANS brand. EQUANS UK & Ireland is a £2 billion revenue business, employing 13,500 people – a significant part of the overall new global operation.

Commenting on his new appointment Loiseau said: “I’m delighted to be joining EQUANS at such a key moment for the business and to be leading it in this next chapter of growth. EQUANS has a clearly defined mission to empower governments, businesses, and communities to successfully negotiate the energy, digital and industrials transitions. Nicola and I will work closely together to ensure a smooth and successful transition of leadership, and I look forward meeting our teams and customers across the many markets we serve.”

FMJ and Grundon Waste Management have launched the 2021 waste and recycling management survey. It’s the fourth year for the annual appraisal of how FMs manage their waste and recycling activities and one which marks an unprecedented period of disruption to services due to the pandemic.

In order to understand how FMs have navigated their way through the last year and their plans for meeting stringent waste and recycling targets we’ve posed a series of questions – aided by the advice and experience of our editorial steering committee.

The results of the 2021 survey will be published in FMJ magazine and form the basis of a white paper co-written by FMJ and the experts at Grundon on how to approach waste and recycling strategies.
