The Manchester Hilton’s Cloud 23 bar played host on Tuesday February 24th to FMJ’s first ever Northern Networking Event.
Well over 130 people came to the night, which was co-hosted by Moneypenny and sponsored by GEA Denco.
The guests came from across the north, with Liverpool, Leeds and Derby amongst those cities represented.
Amidst the usual “networking,” (a.k.a eating and drinking to excess…) there were of course speakers present as well. Rachel Clacher, co-founder and director of Moneypenny walked us through the history of the firm, from the very beginning up to the opening of their brand new American offices.
We then heard from Caroline Reilly and Amy Hulme about the work done by the Living Wage Foundation, trying to create a country where everyone earns enough money to live. They were supported by Steve Workman from ISS and Tony Cahill of Vivark who gave insights into how accreditation from the foundation has benefited their organisations.
Of course no networking event would be complete without the post-speaker chit chat. Unlike the London events many of our guests were meeting for the first time, which made for an interesting mix.
