FM consultant Anne Lennox Martin has been part of the facilities management landscape since the 1980s, working to a senior level both client and supply side and since 2003 has helped champion the sector in her role as independent consultant and trainer. She continues her tradition of putting something back by using her 70th birthday to raise funds for the Salaam Baalak Trust, an Indian non-profit providing care and protection support for street and working children in Delhi.
Her Bollywood-themed bash, to be held on Saturday 29th September 2018, will see up to 250 guests enjoying Indian food and fabulous Bollywood entertainment. The venue, the prestigious Octagon at Queen Mary University of London, once the college’s library, will be transformed into a Bollywood movie set.
Anne was inspired to raise money for the charity when she visited Delhi with her husband Vin last year. “These children have frequently been lost or stolen and many exposed to frightening situations and abuse. One story that touched me was that you cannot offer them a blanket when the nights get cold as it is an invitation for someone to slide underneath and rape them with their hand over their mouth,” she says. “I want to do everything I can to raise money for this worthy cause. Come along and join us for what will be a memorable evening. And if you can’t make it on the night, why not support the charity through a small donation?”
Tickets cost just £55 each and include a welcome drink, a buffet meal and Indian entertainment. Visit http://payingbackat70.com to buy your tickets now, or donate to this worthwhile charity.
