Provider of technical management and energy solutions for commercial property and domestic housing, Richard Irvin FM Limited, has reported a strong performance for the trading year, January to December 2019, following its acquisition by private investment firm Rcapital in December 2018.
The business employs 340 people across its network of offices in Scotland and England and turns over circa £35 million per annum returning a strong operating profit. It focuses on helping clients maintain safe, productive and healthy environments – for working or for living through planned preventative maintenance.
Over the past 18 months, the management team has successfully retained employees and existing clients as it moves into the next phase of growth.
It has also won important new contracts with organisations such as NHS Grampian and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
In 2019, the business established a new Central Scotland Management office located at Castle Business Park, Stirling, to create a senior management hub in the region, moved its Aberdeen employees to new offices in City South, and also secured new offices for its team in Inverness.
Over the past year, Richard Irvin has also made a considerable investment in staff training as part of its focus on leading the way in health & safety and compliance across the industry as levels of complexity and regulation increase. It has also established ASURE, a business platform to monitor, assess and share how it meets and exceeds clients’ compliance and delivery KPI’s.

Richard Irvin puts special measures in place during the coronavirus outbreak
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Richard Irvin has put a raft of special measures in place to ensure that the health and well-being of its employees and those of its clients are prioritised in line with Government advice, and enabling buildings to remain safe and compliant during this unprecedented period.
It has enacted protection protocols with field operatives to ensure clients always receive a call in advance of their arrival on site and that mutual safeguards are in place. It has also put in place alternative signature methods for digital document acceptance at point of work. Its technical field delivery is currently supported by expert agents segregated in a team A team B methodology providing thorough mitigation across home workers and effectively distanced office layouts.
