Compass Group UK & Ireland has appointed Karl Atkins as the new Managing Director of its food procurement service business, Foodbuy.
Atkins replaces Ian Murphy who left the business in April 2022, and will be focused on continuing to provide great quality products and services to its clients and customers, as well as working with suppliers to support with the delivery of the company’s ambition to achieve Climate Net Zero by 2030.
Atkins has been with Foodbuy for the past three years in the role of Chief Operating Officer role, where his focus has been supporting the growth of Foodbuy’s external client business.
He previously held commercial leadership roles with Coca-Cola European Partners and Britvic, after six years in Compass, covering sourcing and category management leadership roles. Prior to that, Atkins spent several years in grocery retail in a number of different commercial and supply chain roles.
