Established in 2018, GMS is an integral part of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, providing essential facilities and estates management services and ensuring a high-quality environment for the benefit of staff, visitors and patients. The appointment to the post comes at an important time for GMS at it sets to launch its new three-year business plan, establishing GMS as a sustainable business fit for the future.
Having most recently worked for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and held previous senior facilities management roles at BAE Systems and Corus, Wyatt brings a wealth of facilities and sector-related knowledge from large, complex organisations.
At Cardiff and Vale University Health Board Wyatt was instrumental in the establishment of the modernisation of many services, examples being the ‘Request a Porter’ helpdesk and significant remodelling of Catering Services with great outcomes for patients whilst also cutting food waste. Wyatt was the fundamental lead in uniting all services and teams within the Capital, Estates and Facilities Service Board. In addition, he most recently led the set-up of the Hard and Soft Facilities Management Services at the Welsh Rugby Principality Stadium when it turned into a nightingale hospital to provide some 2,000 beds if required during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In his new role at GMS, Wyatt will drive several of the company’s key services including Domestic Services, Food Services, Estates and Maintenance, Portering, Transport, Security, Materials Management and Security.
