Northwest based AM Support Services has appointed Val Hughes as new business systems and HSEQ (health, safety, environmental and quality) director to help strengthen and develop the firm’s infrastructure and control systems during a significant period of growth.
Hughes is a specialist in the implementation of ISO standards, writing policies, and infrastructure development. She joined AM Support Services as a consultant in 2008 and helped the firm create the infrastructure that has been an important part of the company’s success.
Adrian Cresswell, managing director of AM Support Services commented:
“We’re delighted that Val has agreed to join our board as our business systems & HSEQ director. Her contribution to the business cannot be praised highly enough. When we recognised the need for a strategic and technical addition to our executive team Val was first choice and she joined us in April to help us achieve our strategic growth while maintaining our system controls.”
As a consultant Hughes has gained experience across all areas of business sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Manufacturing, Retail, Leisure and Education. She holds Tech IOSH status, has held BSI Associate Practitioner status for the past 4 years and is a member of the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS). She is also an IRCA Certified Lead Auditor in Quality and Health & Safety.
AM Support Services has a wide range of clients ranging from The Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle, to Lucite International, Lancaster University and the NHS. In 2009 the firm acquired Pristine Washrooms, a specialist cleaning company.
