Homes for Students on target to achieve growth forecast

Homes for Students, the national student accommodation manager, is on course to achieve its growth forecast after announcing it will operate over 20,000 student beds throughout the UK by the end of 2019, based on secured contracts.

The figure has been achieved in just under four years since the business was formed and as a result the company is adding a number of roles within its sales and marketing, compliance and asset management teams to support its growth strategy.

The company, which counts a number of leading developers and investors among its clients, has 75 schemes in its management across 29 UK towns and cities under its Homes for Students and Prestige Student Living brands.

Martin Corbett, Homes for Students’ Managing Director, believes that as more purpose-built student accommodation is developed, student accommodation management will become more challenging.

He said: “The scale of the business and the platform it works off will become increasingly important to compete with the larger owner-operated brands in respect of internet presence, marketing intelligence and operational efficiencies.

“Homes for Students’ focus is on the UK and Ireland and we are now consolidating ready for further expansion later this year by adding key roles to support our business objective of managing 30,000 beds by the end of our initial five-year plan.”

Homes for Students has developed a service proposition based on taking the risk on facilities management costs allowing the company to concentrate on sales at each property, which are incentivised by a sharing in revenue above agreed target net operating incomes.
