Applications for the 2020 International Facility Management Association (IFMA) scholarship programme are now open.
The scholarship offers practising and aspiring facility managers a route into higher education. Since 1991, the IFMA Foundation, IFMA chapters, IFMA councils and wider FM community have awarded approximately $1.7 million (c.£1.3 million) to more than 500 FM professionals.
In addition to the financial award, scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration to IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo September 30 – October 2, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois, USA where students have the opportunity to network and build relationships with leading FM professionals and interview with IFMA Foundation Global Workforce Initiative Advisors and Partners including Sodexo, ABM, FM:Systems and A&A Maintenance.
Award recipients will also participate in the IgniteFM! Student Challenge where they will be divided into teams and given time to solve a complex facility management challenge. Sponsored and managed by FM:Systems, each team is given an opportunity to present their resolution and then are judged by FM professionals. The winning team receives a financial prize and recognition of the accomplishment.
IFMA Foundation Chair, Joe Archie said: “The IFMA Foundation is built around supporting the next generation of FM talent. With new degree programs appearing around the world, our scholarship offerings are more popular than ever and the amazing quality of our student representatives at IFMA World Workplace has become the toast of the conference.”
The deadline for applying is April 30, 2020. The application and guidelines can be found at: https://foundation.ifma.org/students/scholarships/
