Incentive FM stays on at Somerset House

Incentive FM has renewed its contract with Somerset House Trust, one of the UK’s prime heritage destinations in London, extending their relationship for another two years.

The new contract award takes the partnership to 10 years.

Under the terms of the deal, Incentive FM will continue to be responsible for providing a range of services including cleaning, mechanical & electrical and building fabric maintenance, post room and porterage services along with a helpdesk function to the client team, the tenants & residents of Somerset House as well as the numerous events that regularly occur throughout the year.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Incentive FM has made changes to cleaning and maintenance plans to reduce the risks introduced by the emergence of the virus and has implemented new technology and equipment to support further financial efficiencies.

Heritage buildings have their own unique and exciting challenges with ventilation and to support a Covid-safe environment Incentive FM has retro fitted additional HEPA filters to existing air handling systems ensuring that the look and feel of event spaces is retained, whilst providing an extra layer of air filtration.

The lockdowns also gave the team the opportunity to upgrade the historical chandeliers with LED’s, completely swapping out the old control gear with new equipment using less energy, being more sustainable as well as reducing the maintenance required. Alongside, refreshing the beautiful corridors and communal spaces and uplifting the fabric of the building.

Throughout the pandemic the Incentive FM Helpdesk has continued to be available to provide support to all resident tenant companies and events teams with the numerous and varied requests for support and assistance.

Claire Rumsey, Director, Incentive FM, said: “The team have immersed themselves into ensuring that the residents, tenants, guests and the onsite team at Somerset House all continue to be able to use the space as a release and a tonic for everyone’s well-being during this testing time, we’re really proud of all their efforts that have enabled this renewal.”

Greg Van Duin, Head of Facilities Management, Somerset House, added: “Incentive FM have played a major role in driving improvements in the delivery of support services across the Trust’s key areas of business and we are very happy to have renewed our contract to further strengthen our partnership”
