Property maintenance contractor, Integral UK has cemented a six year relationship with Barrow Borough Council, with a further two-year, maintenance contract extension.

The Cumbrian council has appointed Integral UK to provide mechanical maintenance services at its corporate buildings across the Furness region, including the iconic Town Hall, Dock Museum, Forum 28 Theatre and Market Hall.

Mark Whittaker, business development manager for Integral UK, commented:

“We have been working in partnership with the Barrow Borough Council team since 2007 and this is the second time we have been successful when the contract has been re-tendered in the open market. The award, which will potentially run up to 2018, shows that the council has the confidence that we will continue to deliver a service which is closely aligned to their needs and provide them value for money during such a challenging economic climate for local authorities.”

Richard Hennah of Barrow Borough Council, commented:

“It’s always reassuring when an incumbent supplier demonstrates they are competitive, especially when you have had experience of quality service from them and you have peace of mind that they are protecting your interests.”

The new contract will initially be until 2016, with a potential for extension until 2018.
