ISS appoints new Group COO

ISS has announced the appointment of Martin Gaarn Thomsen as Group chief operating officer, global operations.

Gaarn Thomsen joined ISS in 1999. He previously held positions as Group VP corporate affairs, regional CEO Asia & Pacific, responsible for the growth markets in Asia and regional CEO Western Europe with responsibility for the complex and mature markets in France, the Netherlands and Belgium. Before joining ISS, he worked with Coca-Cola and PA Consulting Group.

Commenting on the new appointment, Jeff Gravenhorst, Group CEO, ISS A/S, said:

“I am delighted that Martin Gaarn Thomsen has accepted this challenging position, and I look forward to working even closer with him in his new role. Martin brings significant experience from all levels in ISS to this position as responsible for our global operations. Most recently he served as country manager of ISS Denmark, where he spearheaded a turnaround, leading the Danish team to impressive margin improvements and renewed growth. He has been instrumental in strengthening the focus on key accounts with several important customer wins and contract expansions, including the Danish Defence, Danish Railways, Siemens, and Danske Bank.”

Gaarn Thomsen will take up his role on 1 February 2016.

The process of identifying a new country manager of ISS Denmark is already in progress.
