ISS cleans up with major public-school contract in Australia

ISS Australia has been awarded a contract with the Victorian State Government to provide cleaning services to 214 public schools in Western and North Eastern Melbourne.

The global facility services provider was selected for its track record in public education, its ethical employment practices, and its self-delivery model, and once mobilised, the contract will become one of the largest contracts in the ISS Pacific business.

The new contract covers two of the eight Melbourne regions that the Department of Education & Training tendered as part of its ‘School Cleaning Reform Project’, a new zone-based approach for school cleaning that is being introduced by the Victorian State Government in 2018. This model brings in outsourced cleaning service providers to deliver consistent and quality cleaning standards to Victorian schools.

Through a phased transition, ISS will commence services to most schools in the portfolio on 1 July 2018.

ISS Australia provides cleaning and other facility management services to a growing portfolio in the education segment, including more than 12 major universities, 56 technical and further education institutions, and now over 1,100 schools.
