ISS Ireland has achieved a distinction in the NISO Safety Awards for the past three years and is now the recipient of ISO 45001:2018 accreditation through DNV-GL, an international accredited registrar and classification society.
ISO 45001 is an international standard in Occupational Health & Safety which has enabled ISS to fully integrate its management systems to include ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015. All three standards are now rolled-up into one integrated, organisation-wide management system which supports the company’s business management systems and operations on a daily basis.
Lisa Hughes, ISS Ireland HSEQ Manager, commented: “ISO 45001 Certification has given us the confidence that we have robust systems in place which demonstrate our positive Health and Safety Culture, that Safety is a Core Value and has helped us strive for continuous improvement.”
The HSEQ team began preparation for ISO 45001 in 2017 and successfully passed stage one and stage two compliance audits to achieve the accreditation at the first attempt. The team updated circa 190 documents in the course of achieving this new standard.
Introduced in late 2018, ISO 45001 replaces (OHSAS 18001) and sets a new and considerably higher standard in Health & Safety.
