G4S Events, has been awarded a three year security services contract at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, one of the world’s leading international sporting venues, and home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos rugby league team, Leeds Carnegie rugby union team.
As part of the contract G4S Events, a division of global security firm G4S, will continue to provide a comprehensive range of specialised security solutions, including guarding, stewarding, safety and crowd management at all of Headingley’s domestic and international cricket and rugby matches as well as non-sporting events.
In addition to providing security services, G4S will sponsor Young Elite Leaders Academy run by The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and Yorkshire Cricket Board, also based at Headingley. The programme has been developed by The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and the Yorkshire Cricket Board to create a sustainable programme which provides participants with additional qualifications and pathways in to volunteering opportunities in sport. The 12 Young Elite Leaders, selected from across the county based on their personal and professional skills, gain experience and qualifications in a range of areas through the Yorkshire Cricket Young Elite Leaders Academy including cricket coaching qualifications and involvement with local cricket clubs.
