JLL invests in its people assets by bringing BIFM training in-house

JLL BIFM fmj nov 13Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) has joined the growing list of facilities management (FM) employers offering staff the opportunity to upskill and become BIFM qualified in-house, by becoming the first property and asset management agent to become a BIFM Recognised Centre.

BIFM is a global leader in providing a full suite of qualifications from Level 2 all the way up to level 7, supporting development at every stage of an FM professional’s career.

Employers who are BIFM Recognised Centres are able to deliver qualifications and assessments which are relevant to their working environment. Furthermore, the skills, knowledge and competence of their employees’ careers can easily be benchmarked against an internationally recognised and established standards framework

Nigel Wheeler, chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle’s property & asset management team commented:

“Training and the development of new skills is vital to ensuring we maintain a leading edge service, particularly in the technology rich and a rapidly changing world of property management. Just as sustainability has become embedded in our service, we aim to ensure that the culture of training and continual up-skilling is hardwired into our wider property management team. We are also rolling out an e-learning platform to ensure that staff are always able to learn in the easiest and effective way.”

Linda Hausmanis, head of awarding organisation at BIFM, said:

“Through becoming a BIFM Recognised Centre, Jones Lang LaSalle has shown how keen they are to raise the level of skills and knowledge development amongst their employees in order to drive measurable business improvements.”

The firm will start to run the in house BIFM programme in January.
