Kent County Council has extended Skanska’s total facilities management services contract for public and educational buildings across 310 of its locations by a further two years.
The original five-year contract was due to finish in November 2019 and will now extend to November 2021.
Over the last four years, the Skanska team has put safety first to ensure all assets and equipment are working and running smoothly, with regular inspections carried out and reviewed with the council. The team has built up strong relationships with the supply chain, collaborating to find increasingly efficient ways of working.
Protecting the environment has also been a high priority. The efficient use of water and energy, as well as a target of zero waste, are just some of the initiatives that have been implemented by Skanska since the contract began.
The negotiated extension is worth £12 million.
