Key FM forges new tech partnership for future of workplace

Key Facilities Management has today announced the launch of a new partnership with proptech company arbnco, which aims to deliver next generation workplace solutions. The initial focus will be on improving the energy performance of commercial buildings, and ensuring that indoor spaces work better for occupants by providing healthier, more productive environments.

arbnco possesses considerable expertise in these areas, having developed a suite of data-led optimisation tools designed to manage building compliance, reduce carbon outputs, monitor and improve indoor air quality, and predict the impact of climate change on buildings.

Key FM’s CIO, Gordon Mitchell, said: “We want to harness the latest thinking on the built environment, and arbnco is the best in breed technology partner for that. Areas such as indoor air quality are becoming increasingly important on the workplace agenda, as it has been proven to directly correlate with the health, wellbeing and productivity of employees. There are huge opportunities for the FM sector to address these issues through technology.”

The partnership will help Key FM channel the latest academic research and apply it commercially. arbnco’s team of scientists work closely with academics from leading universities in the UK and the US, including on multiple Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, which aim to promote innovation by linking business and academia.

Catch Gordon Mitchell speaking today at 2.45pm in the Workplace Technology Theatre about the partnership with arbnco, and how Key FM is aiming to blend the Industrial Revolution 4.0 with FM standards.
