Kier Places appointed to YORbuild3 Minor Works framework

Kier Places has been appointed to the £600 million YORbuild3 Minor Works framework.

The housing maintenance and facilities management business has secured places on all five sub-regional frameworks for Lot 2, which covers new build and refurbishment projects valued between £1 million to £4 million.

YORbuild3 Minor Works will run for four years, expiring in July 2026 with the option to extend for a further two years. It is available to local authorities and other public and third sector organisations across the Yorkshire and Humber region, the North East, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire.

The fifth-generation framework supports the UK Government’s Construction Playbook and Construction Innovation Hub’s Value Toolkit. It puts greater emphasis on Modern Methods of Construction and offsite solutions, carbon reduction and a more enhanced sustainability offer.

Kier says it is “fully aligned” to the Value Toolkit and Construction Playbook and Kier Places will support these methods to deliver innovative, sustainable projects, working collaboratively with colleagues in Kier Construction who have held positions on YORbuild frameworks since their formation in 2009.

Mark Whittaker, MD of Kier Places, said: “We’re proud to have been appointed to the YORbuild3 minor works framework, where we will look to provide a first-class service for clients.

“We have an extensive footprint in these areas, and with a network of local and trusted supply chain partners, we can deliver for local authorities and public sector organisations, leaving lasting, positive legacies in the communities where we work.”

This is the latest framework award for the business, with others including the Crown Commercial Service’s £35 billion RM6232 framework with Kier Places being appointed to Lot Group 2 – Hard Facilities Management, Lot 2b and Lot 2c on the Framework.
