INDUSTRY INSIGHT FMJ.CO.UK CONTRACT WINS & PARTNERSHIPS SERVEST FIRMLY ON TRACK WITH CHILTERN RAILWAYS Facilities management provider Servest Group has been awarded a contract to deliver cleaning services to stations served by Chiltern Railways. The three-year contract, with a two-year extension option, commenced on 1 June OEX&%& comprehensive station cleaning services to 23 of Chiltern Railways’ stations. The deal builds on Servest’s existing relationship with the train operator to refurbish the public toilets at London Marylebone as well as other noncontractual work on the behalf of the client. 10 JULY 2014 Mitie’s Environmental + business has successfully won a new contract with Oxford Brookes University. The cleaning contract, valued at over £1 million over an initial three-year period, will see Mitie cleaning all classrooms, sports halls, lecture theatres and offices at all four of the universities campuses, including its brand new campus in Swindon. Carillion has been awarded an estates and facilities management (FM) contract by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust at its three main sites which include Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House. The win follows an announcement by Carillion last month that it had been selected as a preferred bidder, and with the circa £200 million now formally signed, Carillion has confirmed that it will commence providing FM and estate transformation services from 1 July 2014. Milton Keynes Council has awarded Serco a four-year extension on its cleaning, recycling, waste and street cleansing contract, which has a total value of £48 million. Under the new terms, Serco will subcontract 35 per cent of services to local businesses, giving them the opportunity to be involved in delivering important local services to the community whilst also supporting local employment. Incentive FM has been awarded a multi-million pound contract to deliver total FM services at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre in Hartlepool, by property management company, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL). The terms of the deal will see Incentive FM responsible for all security, cleaning, waste and mechanical and electrical services at the 550,000 sq ft shopping centre, which houses 140 stores, an indoor market and has parking for 1,200 vehicles. Food service provider, Charlton House has secured a five-year contract with Centrica and British Gas to provide catering across all of their 15 sites ranging from Edinburgh to Staines. Commencing on 1 September, 250 members of Charlton House staff will be serving 15,000 employees and visitors on a daily basis. OCS has been awarded a security services contract to install and monitor a wireless CCTV system by the London Borough of Barnet. The contract, which began in April, involves an upgrade of the entire town centre CCTV network through the innovative integration of latest technologies. Mitie has extended its relationship with Vodafone UK to provide integrated facilities management for the next five years. The contract has a total value in excess of £250m over the five-year period and will see Mitie deliver services across Vodafone’s UK property portfolio of around 1500 sites, including retail outlets, mobile telephone exchange sites and offices.
