HEALTH & WELLBEING FOCUS
This year the Facilities Show launches a new area dedicated
to the Health & Wellbeing of the workforce. Below we
round up some of the topics being discussed today at the
Occupational Health & Wellbeing Theatre.
Design for life
From 10:30 - 11:15 a panel of experts, comprising Giacomo
Rozzo, Strategist at Il Prisma; Tom Alexander, Director at
Aukett Swanke and Gilberto Vizzini, Country Manager UK
Branch & Strategy Director, BU Destinations. Il Prisma will
discuss how they can bring wellbeing into designs and
what kind of outcomes this means for workers. They will
share their thoughts on ways in which a focus on wellbeing
is currently being included in design briefs alongside
examples of leading projects.
Mental health focus
Companies who wish to start raising awareness and
reducing stigma in their organisations are choosing Mental
Health First Aid, the best-known training course available
for companies. Before implementing it, says the Healthy
Work Company which runs these courses, you need to
consider a number of factors such as how you will support
MHFAiders, who from 12.30 to 13.00 will explain the
strategy behind such sessions.
Back to nature
BRE and partners have commenced a long-term project
“The Biophilic O ice” to grow and deepen the evidence
base for health, wellbeing and productivity impacts of
creating a restorative o ice environment. From 13.50 -14.20
Dr Ed Suttie, Research Director, BRE, asks, does refurbishing
with higher levels of occupant wellbeing in mind bring a
greater return – in terms of business performance, reduced
absenteeism and improved reported levels of wellness?
IOSH managing occupational health and wellbeing
From 16:20 - 16:50, Richard Orton, Director of Business
Services, IOSH will give delegates the opportunity to hear
how investments in health and wellbeing are providing
organisations with competitive advantage and how IOSH
is supporting them to implement leading practical steps to
deliver ‘the healthy profit’.

a traditional 72W fluorescent fitting, will deliver an estimated £38* of energy
savings per unit over 12 months. The market for LED Panels, designed to replace
existing fluorescent louvred units is growing rapidly. Demand is driven by the
clear cost-cutting benefits to be gained from a switch to new LED technology
that uses a fraction of the energy compared to legacy lighting schemes. Interest
has been further fuelled by the availability of tax breaks and interest-free loans
supported by the UK Government.
