ISS Healthcare business has re-secured the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust Hotel Services contract for the third time, following a full marketing test exercise.
The new five-year deal which comes with the option to extend for up to a further two years, incorporates the move into the new Royal. The Hotel service provision will include patient and retail catering, restaurant and coffee shops, healthcare cleaning, portering and help desk services. The contract will start on 1 April, 2016.
At the same time, ISS has also been selected by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust to deliver portering, cleaning and inpatient ward catering services in a major new cancer hospital to be built on the same site as the Royal. The new cancer hospital is expected to open in 2019 and the contract would begin at that point.
Whilst both NHS trusts worked together on procurement, each will have a separate contract with ISS.
Donna Brown, divisional director, ISS Healthcare commented:
“This is the third time ISS have been awarded the contract for the Royal. Given the rigorous tendering process the Trust adopts, this was by no means an easy achievement. For the 600 plus ISS staff employed in providing Hotel services to the Trust and its patients this award is particularly significant.
”We were also delighted that the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has decided to invite us into their exciting new hospital. Their commitment to this collaboration has been magnificent and we look forward to providing the same high standards of service for their specific needs.”
