McGill lands £1.4m deal with Scottish housing association

Dundee-based building services contractor, McGill, has been awarded a £1.4 million repairs contract with Govan Housing Association, a community-controlled social landlord operating in the Govanhill and Merrylee neighbourhoods of Glasgow.

The contract award builds on a long-standing partnership between the two firms and will see McGill continue to operate around South West Govanhill, an area currently undergoing significant regeneration as part of the association’s South West Govanhill Property Acquisition and Repair programme.

McGill will deliver a a wide range of trade services, including slating, tiling, fire & security services, TV installation, landscaping, lead and stonework amongst others.

Govan Housing Association owns and manages more than 2,800 homes for social rent and provide factoring services for a further 1,500 privately owned properties. The association has invested more than £43million in their tenants’ homes as part of the substantial major repairs and planned maintenance programmes since 2000.

Commenting on the new contract, McGill Operations Director, Chris Ferriday said: “It is always great to build long-lasting relationships with clients as you really get to know their team and ultimately deliver outstanding work. Having worked with Govanhill Housing Association for several years, we have strong relationships and a great understanding of what the goals of the association are and how we can support them to achieve these.”
