Mitie boosts senior leadership with new appointments

Mitie has announced two new appointments in engineering services and integrated facilities management (IFM). Kerry Sheehan will become Managing Director of Mobile Engineering and Kath Fontana will fill a new role as Managing Director of Strategic Accounts, Public Sector and Critical Infrastructure.

Kerry Sheehan MD of Mobile Engineering

With over 30 years’ experience in the manufacturing and engineering industry, Sheehan returns to Mitie from SPIE facilities. Starting as an apprentice in electrical and process plant control at Rolls Royce in Bristol, he progressed through the ranks at Dalkia before initially joining Mitie in 2009. Sheehan has extensive mobile engineering, business development and general management experience. The role will see him drive the development of technology which maximises the use of data to aid client delivery. This includes a focus on managing multi-site contracts with multi-disciplined teams.

Commenting on his appointment, Sheehan, said: “I am pleased to be returning to Mitie with a clear customer focus to develop our mobile engineering offering further as we look to evolve our technology offering.”

Kath Fontana joins Mitie as MD of Strategic Accounts, Public Sector and Critical Infrastructure

Fontana has spent the last 25 years covering a range of areas from estates and contract management, to integration and acquisition. Fontana was previously responsible for the UK technical services business at ISS, where she also directed service excellence for asset management engineering and capital projects. She is also Senior Vice President at RICS. Building on her previous success at leading and developing teams, Fontana will lead the delivery of service excellence, growth and digital transformation in engineering and IFM services.

Fontana commented: “I am delighted to be joining Mitie to lead these nationally important sectors as the company continues its transformation. I am particularly looking forward to working with the team to further develop the Connected Workspace and the digital transformation of facilities management.”

Under the leadership of Carlo Alloni, these roles complement a four-strong senior team in engineering alongside Beverley Winrow and Dan Guest, who have both assumed new roles as Managing Director of Strategic Accounts, Private Sector and Ireland, and Managing Director of Business Performance, Transformation and Energy respectively.
