Mount Charles takes off with Flybe deal

Mount Charles has landed a multi-million pound deal with Europe’s largest regional airline Flybe.

The five-year deal will see the Belfast-based outsourcing group delivering facilities management and catering services to Flybe’s training academy in Exeter and at its headquarters at New Walk Hangar.

Mount Charles, who has operated a cafe at Exeter airport for the past six years has opened two new food and beverage outlets for the airline at its New Walker Hangar HQ as well as the Sky Café at its training academy.

Speaking about the contract award, Trevor Annon, Chairman at Mount Charles said: “This is an incredibly exciting partnership for us and one we are very much looking forward to developing.

“For the last six years, Mount Charles has firmly established itself as the exclusive food and beverage partner for Exeter Airport, with our Fed & Watered catering outlet and I am delighted that we are continuing to expand here.”

Flybe’s chief strategy officer, Vincent Hodder, added: “We are pleased to welcome Mount Charles on board to manage the conference facilities at our Training Academy. The new cafeteria services have been particularly well received by all who have visited them to date. Both the new ‘Sky Café’ and ‘Hub at the Hangar’ areas have created the much-needed informal meeting and contemporary eating space for staff and visitors alike offering high quality, healthy food prepared freshly on site.”
