New facilities management contracting model for Gov’t procurement announced

Houses-of parliament-whitehall_iStock_201204The Government Procurement Service (GPS) has announced the establishment of a new Facilities Management (FM) contracting model.

The current framework (RM708) provides a wide variety of facilities management services, available on a UK wide basis. These services, encompass hard, managed and soft FM services which can be provided as a complete package (Total Facilities Management or TFM), aggregations of individual services (bundled services) or single services.

GPS is looking to actively engage with potential suppliers to this framework through a series of conferences planned for late September and early October to be held in Manchester and London.

Registration for the conferences and all subsequent supplier communications relating to this procurement will be managed electronically via its eSourcing tool, which suppliers need to register for. Full guidance on registering and use GPS’ eSourcing tool can be viewed here.

Once registered, suppliers will be able to request access to Facilities Management (RM1056) information by emailing ExpressionOfInterest@gps.gsi.gov.uk and quoting Facilities Management Ref: RM1056 (including name, organisation, email and contact phone number).

Further updates will be published on the GPS website and suppliers are encouraged to visit the FM contracting model page on a regular basis.

The new contracting model will be available to view on Tenders Electronic Daily shortly and will replace the existing framework for Facilities Management which is due to expire on 27 July 2014.
